University of Hyderabad is an Indian Public Research University, located in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Founded in 1974, it has more than 5000 students and 400 faculties from several disciplines. In January 2015, the University received the Visitor’s Award for the Best Central University in India, awarded by the President of India. The campus is rich in flora and fauna, home to over 734 flowering plants and 220 species of birds.
The National Institute of Animal Biotechnology is an autonomous research establishment of the Department of Biotechnology, focused on the development of globally competitive live stock industry. NIAB is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and take up research in the cutting edge areas for improving animal health and productivity. The institute is housed at Miyapur, Hyderabad.
